The human instinct to belong, to find that sense of place runs throughout my work. At odds is the desire to explore and seek out the unfamiliar is sometimes foreboding. To experience the world via unfamiliar pathways and landscapes to find a way back to the familiar are interwoven in my practice.
Early influences are eclectic - Dore, Daumier, Hopper, Rothko and Grimshaw. Spiritual and emotionally driven all.
Home is important and been a moving target in my life which has created a restlessness. But I believe I’ve finally found my way.
