I have covered most mediums in my time but I began with oils and have come back to them once more. Skies and landscapes are my passion.
Major influences are many American and European masters. But my particular American favourites (and there are many) would have to be Frederick Church, Thomas Cole and Jasper Frances Cropsey of the Hudson School. European painters being John Atkinson Grimshaw, JMW Turner, Casper David Friedrich, Vermeer and Claude Lorraine to name but a few.
I have been a member of both the Essex Art Club and the Mall Galleries in Pall Mall London (who I have returned to constantly over the years).
The Royal Society of Marine Artists has been one of the more notable societies where I have had work exhibited.
